Top of Malaysia: Mt. Kinabalu Climb

Information on Mt. Kinabalu

Location: Sabah, Malaysia
Height: 4095m (the highest in Malaysia)
Distance: Timpohan to Laban Rata 6km, Mesilau to Laban Rata 8km, Laban Rata to Peak 2.4km.

Itinerary

Day 1
Morning: Transfer from Airport to Kinabalu Park. Enjoy the country side view in this 2 hours ride.

Noon: Reach Kinabalu Park, check in and register yourself for the climb, make all the Kinabalu Park Fees payment. Take a good rest for tomorrow climb.

Day 2
Morning: Breakfast and get ready to climb Mt. Kinabalu via Mesilau trail. Enjoy the beautiful scenery along the trail.

Noon: Had your pack box lunch. After 5 hours of climbing, finally reach Laban Rata. Enjoy your stay at 3273m. Had dinner and sleep early for tomorrow big day.

Day 3
Morning: Wake up at 0200 hours, and start the summit push. A 3 hours walk in the dark will be rewarded with a beautiful scenery and watch sunrise from the highest point in Malaysia. After all the photos session, start descending back to Laban Rata for breakfast.

Noon: Descend back to Kinabalu Park via Timpohan Gate. Had your lunch at Kinabalu Park. Evening: Transfer to Kota Kinabalu. Check in a hotel (budgeted).

Day 4
Morning: After breakfast, transfer to airport for departure.

4) Spare Shoes, recommended Kg. Adidas or sandal
5) Rain coat or poncho
6) bottle water ( you can refill )
7) thick clothes ( temperature can be 0-10C)
8) power bar/raising/peanut/cucumber for energy
9) Bring your day bag
10) Spare Clothes
11) 1st Aid Kit
12) Glove water resistant
13) Wind Breaker
14) Cap or Hat to reduce heat lost and also protect from heat
15) Sleeping bag - optional
